These easy to make mouthwatering solar cooker recipes will please your taste buds. The big benefit of solar cooking is that you can not burn your food. Once you put the pot in to cook, you can do other activities. You do not have to stay there to stir or watch. Although it takes more time to cook food than a regular oven. Once you taste the food cooked in solar oven, you will know the difference.

Cooking Tips

  • Use a dark, light-weight, shallow pot to cook food.

  • If you cook with parabolic cooker, then you have to stir and watch your food. Since the bottom of pot heats up and it cooks food very quickly.

  • If you use shiny aluminum pots, then you can paint it black so that it captures heat fast.

  • Do not try to take the pot out from oven with your bare hands. Always use mittens. Many times the pot will still hot.

For all my solar recipes, I use aluminum pot that has been painted black. If you do not have any black color pot, you can paint black color on your aluminum pot. Paint the pot with non toxic paint. The lid should be painted black too, so it absorbs more sun and will take less time to cook. The cooking time for these solar cooker recipes varies by cooker type, quantity of food, sun position.
