Green Trend At The Builders' Show

The International Builders' Show took place in Las Vegas before few days ago. vendors at convention took steps toward green trend. The attendance was lower than last year because of the today's economy. Surprising many vendors was featuring green products in hopes to lure home owners back into the market. A spokeswoman for the National Association of Home Builders said "I'd be surprised if there wasn't some sort of a green attributes to every product down there". She also added that a record of 363 vendors featured green products, which is more than double than last year.

With the current issues we are facing, the green industries have convinced a future home owner that energy efficient homes outfitted with sustainable materials is the definition of future home. The people are interested in what they can do to cut energy bills in the long run. As green industry is growing and the competition between the suppliers is bringing the costs down, that makes it more affordable to build greener homes.

Many products at the convention had wide variety of offerings with the new improvements in how they are made. Matt Belcher, the president of Belcher Homes in St. Louis, Mo. Represented radiant floor systems, which function as heaters. He said "Four or five years ago, it was pretty cost prohibitive, but now they are pretty affordable, and they are made better and are more efficient."
